Annabelle Paetsch is a versatile, accomplished and creative musician who has performed throughout Canada, Austria, Germany, the U.S. and Cuba. Annabelle enjoys collaborating with orchestras, choirs, singers and instrumentalists as well as doing solo performances. In addition to freelance playing and music directing, Annabelle holds the position of Minister of Music at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, West Vancouver, and teaches piano and theory privately.
Annabelle has been singing in and playing for choirs most of her life. As accompanist she has worked with the Pacific Spirit Choir, the BC Boys Choir, and Amabile (London ON). As conductor she has worked with church choirs on the North Shore as well as in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario, and is founder and music director of the St Stephen's Community Singers based in West Vancouver. Annabelle is excited to be working with Carousel Chorus this season as well.
Additional professional activity has included festival adjudicating, two solo piano CDs, lecturing at Douglas College and at the University of Western Ontario (now Western University), and working as a musical extra in the film industry. Annabelle's Masters and Ph.D. degrees in music are from Western University in London ON, Canada. She holds a Diploma in Piano Performance from the Haydn Conservatory in Eisenstadt, Austria as well as Associate, Licentiate and Fellowship Diplomas from Trinity College of Music, London England (FTCL).
Annabelle believes that music enriches the heart, mind, body and soul, and she is passionate about nurturing growth and connection through shared musical experience. In her free time she enjoys walking or hiking on the North Shore and improvising at the piano.
