The Carousel Chorus Board had a virtual Face-time Board Meeting on April 6th and, as a result, has made the unanimous decision to cancel the balance of the choir's season due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. This decision was made to ensure the safety and well being of our choir members by limiting personal contact.
As a result both Annabelle and Lorna have been advised of the board's decision and their contracts have been paid out for the season. Both have indicated they are willing to continue with us if we are able to meet again in September. If we are not able to meet in September, the choir will attempt to re-convene in January.
The Music Librarian has requested that choir members hold onto their current music because the plan is to re-do the program next January. If the choir does re-convene in September, a new Christmas repertoire will be orchestrated by Annabelle.
The Board regrets we cannot offer a refund of fees for the cancellation of the season as the fees cover the salaries of the Music Director and Accompanist and the rental of the practice facility. Because we are not paying for the facility rental for the balance of this season, the fees for the September session will be reduced by $30.00. If the Fall season is also cancelled then the $30.00 reduction will apply for January 2021.
We hope you stay safe, practice social distancing, limit personal contact and, above all, SING to your self and keep a song in your heart. It's the best medicine!
